In Therapy

Stephen Howarth, April 14, 2023April 14, 2023

We miss Tay & Treacle so much and we know time is a great healer, but sometimes throwing yourselves into something that is both a distraction and a form of therapy can be a good thing.

It was always our plan after the dogs had passed to embark on some house/pet sitting as a way to meet new people, see new places and get some greatly needed pet cuddles. That is why I am writing this particular post cuddled up in front of a real fire with Annette and Frankie. Frankie is an adorable, affectionate dog we have the pleasure of looking after while his owners are away on holiday.

It is dog therapy for us and we thank Frankie’s owners for the opportunity to get to know him and look after their home and beloved family member.

So, over 4 months exploring the country, what have we been up to? Well we have made a couple of small modifications to the van. Mostly reorganising storage and adding EHU as an option but generally the van is performing as expected and serving us well.

Our social media accounts have been closed down as we realised they were simply taking up too much time to maintain. Additionally I wasn’t convinced they were the most efficient use of my time as a diluted feed amongst the hundreds of daily Tweets and Facebook clickbait that people subject themselves to – Social Media: don’t miss it, don’t trust it.

We are currently in rural Derby until the weekend when we head just down the road to rural Leicester for another dog therapy session. Not that we do not like the cities, there is a time and place for everything, it is just that long walks in the countryside with K9 companions is what we need right now…

Frankie cuddles are great, he’s such a sweetie.

I miss Tay and Treacle loads and thoughts of Treacle are still very emotional but thinking of all the good times helps with the feeling of loss.

Wow 4 months adventuring but as we’d hoped we have managed to visit many places, meet new people and made many new memories – long may it continue as I’m loving our new life; definitely one of our better decisions 😄👍

Glad you are both doing well.

Frankie sounds just what you need right now. And yes, time is a great healer.

Hope to see you both soon.
