Fascinating and truly inspiring, this was our long overdue day trip to the famous Bletchley Park. We had planned on a number of occasions to visit here however never managed to find the right time during our busy schedule. With a September holiday booked and a couple of free days we finally got the opportunity to visit this iconic location steeped in secrecy and famous for the ingenuity and dedication of the people who worked there.
If you do not know about Bletchley Park and the work that went on there then you should! Go online and research it as not only did the events and work that took place here shorten the second World War by an estimated 2 years, saving countless lives, but it became the birthplace of modern computing which produced the laptop or mobile phone you are likely using to read this blog.
We finished August with a new sit for the wonderful Bear in Melksham and our 10th sit in Gaddesby for Ken and Wolfie. We always enjoy our sits in Gaddesby and this was no exception although Ken can be a cheeky little puppy when he wants to be.
Now in September we are having a few weeks rest and jetting off to Italy, we have picked a few locations to visit so that we get to see different regions and learn about their history. There are lots of things to do and see in Italy and it will likely need revisiting in the future to fully appreciate all it has to offer, but for now we will relax, kick back and enjoy the sunshine, beer and pizza.

It was very nice to leave a rather wet and windy Gatwick airport on Wednesday to arrive in Naples with blue skies and sunshine 😎
Bletchley Park was very interesting, thought provoking and at times emotional with some of the funny and heart-warming stories we heard. So much to see there that a revisit may be on the cards.
Oh I love that picture of Bear and me 😍 what a sweetie – Bear obviously not me 😜
Now time to explore Italia 🇮🇹😄

I’m sure you’ll visit nicer places than when I’ve been to Italy for work. They were so bad, I vowed never to take another coach to Italy again!

Visiting Naples, Rome, VC, Florence, Pisa and Milan so plenty of hotels and trains. Some beautiful scenery on the Amalfi coast and many more places yet to visit. Maybe it was just because you were working when you visited Italy, all that driving and no drinking 🙂
