Chuffin’ eck luv; hope you’ve got ya woolly knickers on! Well we do appear to have had a UK wide cold snap so we’ve had to snuggle down for a few days venturing out only for food and Treacle toilet breaks. A little bit of hibernation is just what we needed actually, after the amount of work and planning we did to get to this point.
As we progress with WR/D, I will likely post slightly shorter blogs but more regularly – so here goes.
The van is doing everything we ask of it and as some people have asked for details of the build here are some pictures for you Van Build – we decided not to do a bunch of build videos as the Internet is full of these already.
We are also making good use of the governments reduced bus fare policy of £2 per journey and Treacle is now a seasoned bus traveller. She is also doing remarkably well on lengthy walks and is enjoying all the attention she’s getting.
Those following us on Facebook will know where we have been visiting and we have stuck a few new pins in the UK travel map but basically we set off to Oxford with a plan to head south west. Once there the weather changed and as we were camped next to a ragging river and with some pending appointments back in the north west we decided to change direction.
We are currently snuggled down in Nottingham and as soon as the mercury rises a little we plan to head out to Sherwood Forest and let Treacle sniff out Robin Hood’s hideaway.
Next stop is Selby and the Squires Cafe Bar, a chance to visit this famous biker’s retreat. As ex-bikers ourselves we look forward to seeing some of the wonderful new bikes around these days and ogle at those classics from the past.

Aye Babes it has been a bit nippy to say the least, but snuggling down with you and Treacle has been a great start to WR/D and retirement 😉
I’m certainly enjoying the slower pace of life and Treacle is definitely enjoying the fact that we have slowed down 🤣
Carlos
34 miles between us on Wednesday just gone, I look forward to chasing you both around the country!

Ha ha, a mystery meet up somewhere with Carlos and 53 random strangers.
Dave
Sounds like a chilly start to the adventure. Hope it warms up soon.

The chilly weather does seem to have forced us into some form of unofficial UK pub crawl LOL. Nice blue skies for photos and we’re testing out the tech. Luckily we’re all snuggled up warm and toasty at night.
Annie Taylor

Cheers David, we’re travelling slowly due mainly to Treacle being so old but she’s enjoying all the attention from people. Sherwood Forest is next on our list, it’s just a little north from here which is conveniently en route to our next location in Selby.
