The Adventure Begins

We have called this post “The Adventure Begins” although it was also going to be called “The Next Chapter” or “Bon Voyage”, however privately we’re just calling it “Yay!”. We’re still currently operating WR/D rules, for those of you following the story, but we now have the freedom to explore and travel more.

Unfortunately WR/D has inadvertently forced our Spring/Summer campervan into a Winter van, which is something we did not plan for. Now I’m not going to say our thermal insulation is unbelievably amazing but I did challenge myself to a sleepover in the van a few days ago at -3 °C temperatures and was snuggled quite comfortably in my sleeping bag. Let’s quantify this as “achievable but not desirable” so we will probably book a dog friendly hotel/apartment for a short time until temperatures rise a little.

Just a reminder that from this point forward we no longer have super fast broadband connectivity and it may therefore take us a little longer to reply to emails or posts. In fact when travelling we may actually have zero internet connectivity, but rest assured we will reply to all emails or questions when time and technology permit.

With only a handful of working days left for me, Annette’s already retired, we need to start planning the UK leg of the tour. Possibly head south where it may be a little warmer but we’ll check the weather forecasts first. As the weather gets warmer we can venture further north and even explore the North Coast 500 route.

We are still arranging, rearranging and moving stuff around in the van as we get more used to it in a real world situation but that’s all part of the fun.

  1. Yay indeed Babes 🙂 We put a heck of a lot of hard work into getting to this point and now is the time to reap the rewards on our new adventure.

It is good to see that Treacle seems to be adapting to most of the changes and she is definitely enjoying meeting new people even in the midst of a fire evacuation at the very friendly doggie hotel 😉
