Summer Reunion

This summer seems to have become a reunion few months with some old friends. Now is that friends that are old or simply long time friends – a little of both I guess. In no particular order… it was nice to catch up with Jane in York and spend some time exploring that wonderful city steeped in history and hidden treasures.

Many thanks to Dylan for taking us to see Hull and then safely getting us out again. A tour of Beverley and a pub lunch rounded off a nice day and next time we hope to spend some more time with your other half rather than leave Rebecca at work again.

Travelling West to East during June we managed to see all of Annette’s family and catch up on all the news. A lovely meal or two out and the obligatory fish & chips in Morley made sure the visits went down well, except with our waistlines.

We had also spent a lot of time coordinating a visit to Birmingham to see Carlos who is on the road even more than we are. A few nights in Rubery was a treat as Carlos chauffeured us around to Stratford-Upon-Avon and even graciously let me win all the games of 10 pin bowling.

I also think it is acceptable to include John & Paula in this post as although they are primarily pet parents to Ted & Wolfie we feel that after several repeat house sits we can happily call them friends and enjoy our chats and visits to rural Leicester.

Later this month we also have visits to Uncle Ken in St. Helens, a special guest appearance from Andrew Knight in Manchester, then over to see Lin, Graham & Paco in Little Sutton and Nettie has lunches arranged with Amrita and Amanda.

It was nice to also hear from Ian Archer (and Simon in the background) and thanks for following the blog mate.

Mike Goodwin is making a flying visit to the UK in August and we’ve managed to schedule a couple of days in Loughborough for another steam train event to compliment our Flying Scotsman Experience in May. Perhaps we can try and squeeze a visit to see Martin, Spencer & Max if our diaries match up?

A special shout out has to go to Fran who services and maintains our campervan. Service & MoT done for another year and thanks for all your advice and generosity.

That sounds like an awful lot of names but it just goes to show how busy we have been recently – and we’re still lovin’ it!

It has been a lovely summer for us so far on our travels, being able to spend quality time with friends and family has been a pleasant change and we’ve had some good laughs. Looking forward to more fun catch ups in the coming months.

It’s been great to see more new places, meet new people and care for some lovely furry friends and we’ve been ever so fortunate with the weather too.

My personal thanks to Fran as well for being so accommodating especially when Nettie initially booked the MOT for 10 days after the old one ran out! We’re all sorted now though and back on the road again for more adventures 😁

Cheers mate, we hope all is going well with you guys – I will let you know if we’re around your area so we can pop in and catch up 🙂

It was so lovely to finally catch up with you both again! I am glad I finally got to take you both to Rafters, the source of my everyday eating when I did taxi driving.

I’ve actually driven the coach around Stratford since, passing some of the places we were I had a little smile to myself. I have been past Netties photo stage twice actually!

Looking forward to seeing you both again soon, wherever that may be!

PS Just make sure you don’t go abroad before we meet again!

It was a long time coming but well worth the wait, we really enjoyed the weekend. Stratford will never seem the same again now. Abroad is likely 2024 now so hopefully we can sync calendars by then. Take care and hopefully see you soon mate.
