Next Door Neighbours

Stephen Howarth, July 29, 2024July 29, 2024

We have gone from the Bonneville Salt Flats to Hugh Bonneville this month as we are currently deep in the heart of sunny Hampshire down the road from the above rather shabby looking old house. We have been back in the UK for a month now so I thought it was time for a quick catchup.

Since our return our campervan has been taxed, serviced, insured and restocked ready for another year, we have made the annual pilgrimage to the dentists, caught up with family and friends and packed out the next six months calendar dates.

Diets and exercise routines have resumed after the gastronomic assault of the USA, we actually feel as though we can walk and move properly again. We still have to drop a few more pounds but lots of planned dog walking will help.

We have already this month cared for our furry friends Jester & Gemma, Bob & Jambo, Ted & Wolfie and currently a tiny 10 week out Labrador puppy called Maverick. Maverick obviously does take up 99% of our time but we have managed to book a late winter getaway to Lisbon as recommend by our friends in Woodstock and Sparkford; as both couples love Lisbon so much we thought we should give it a try.

We have three new dogs to sit for next month plus Mike is visiting from Switzerland, meeting us for a few days exploring around Windsor. Apart from a week in October I believe we are now fully booked dog sitting until January 2025 after which we plan to take a few weeks off before our regular February sit in Woodstock.

We are looking forward to seeing many of our regular dog sit friends during the rest of this year and some of you have already booked 2025, many thanks to you all for your hospitality, trust & generosity.

Well that month flew by, but once again we packed in loads of stuff. It was lovely to visit with lots of family and to see some friends again.

America was an amazing trip and it’s nice to reminisce about the many memorable moments, places and people we met, well maybe not Harley πŸ˜‚

It’s great to get back to dog sitting though, catching up with some of our friends and getting cuddles from the doggies, especially when we are revisiting and the doggies are as excited to see us as we are them ❀️

August should be good, it’ll be nice to see Mike again and explore Windsor together, plus we’ve got new dogs to meet which is always excitingπŸ‘

It does look a bit of a shabby place. Just look at the state of the grass ….. 🀣🀣🀣🀣

Hope you are both keeping well … πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yep but I wouldn’t like to be the one to have to mow it 🀣

We’re good thanks, hope you are too. Take care πŸ‘

Be sure to go to the bakery near the castle when you’re in Windsor and get some jam tarts…they are amazing 😍😍
