Mercury Falling

I think we took the Island hopping a little too far and hopped back to the British Isles where the temperature is distinctly lower than we have been used to during the last few weeks.

We are currently nesting in Cambridgeshire in a medieval 13th century property which means that not only do we have a lovely 24/7 hot AGA in the kitchen but I have also earned my scouts badge for lighting fires in the cosy log burner.

The rural location means we get beautiful landscapes (when it’s not raining) and long country walks, we get peahens wandering around the garden each morning and hedgehogs taking a leisurely stroll through it in the evenings but the highlight here is of course the absolutely wonderful, funny, adorable and cuddly Labrador we get to spend time with.

We have spent the last month continuing our itinerary for the USA which we will publish next month. We have also arranged to visit a number of our new “Pet Parent” friends on our way back to Cheshire, we will not have doggy cuddles for 3 months so we need to stock up on them before we go and we have some super special doggies we need to see before we depart.

We have also booked some time exploring with Swiss Mike when we return, we missed his last UK visit so it will be nice to catch up and visit some new locations around Windsor with him. The castle is certainly on our list of places to visit but I think we’re all a bit too old for Legoland.

All in all it has been a relaxing month with lots of downtime to concentrate on the USA trip, organise van storage, service and MoT and book up our 2024 dog sitting calendar.

Definitely missing the warmth of the Canaries but the thermals plus a couple of layers seem to work 😄 didn’t stop me getting a cold though, but hey ho that’s the UK in winter for you.

Of course the plus sides to suffering the cold are snuggling up with a lovely cuddly doggie in front of a raging fire, both doggie and I are very impressed with your fire starting skills, thank you for keeping us warm 👍

Looking forward to the next few months – catching up with pet parents and their very special doggies, catching up with some family and friends and of course the American Adventure🙂
