Happy Birthday

Stephen Howarth, November 9, 2025November 9, 2025

Happy Birthday Nettie, 21 again, cough cough! This October sees us visiting friends old & new. Our visit to Sparkford was simply to see our good friends there and say hello to Bonnie who we regularly sit for. Other than our friends living there, Sparkford’s best feature is its close proximity to Castle Cary which is blessed with both a fantastic Chinese Takeaway and wonderful Indian Restaurant – we have sampled both on numerous occasions.

Sparkford’s visit was followed by, you guessed it, dog sitting in Castle Cary for another of our good friends and Izzy and Feather the Whippets and before you ask, yes we did partake in another Chinese and Indian whilst we were there. We explored some new walks for the girls and had lots of cuddles from them during our stay.

Next we headed Eastward across the country to Guildford for a new sit and an old Jack Russell Terrier called Rosie. The location of the sit was very convenient as we were just across the road from the North Downs but also only 15 minutes walk from Guildford centre which meant we had great local shops in the city and lovely quiet walks in the country.

On route to our next sit we took a few days off and visited Farnborough and surrounding area before heading south to Chichester for another new sit. Lottie the Cockapoo was lovely and we certainly think we have made some really nice new friends there. We are back there in December and they have also booked us for April/May 2027 if you can believe that.

November started off in Oxford but this time for a new sit and a cheeky Yorkshire Terrier called Toto. Oxford city is very nice and there are a number of great museums to explore and historic buildings to visit, it is only let down by the large number of cyclists competing for space with pedestrians and the equally large number of aimlessly meandering students swanning around as though they think (edited)…

We are here for another week before setting off again on what promises to be a very interesting end to the Month.

    Happy Birthday Lovely Nettie!!

Sadly I’m not near you guys, my mate is near Oxford today though, near St Clements I believe. I’ve been dumped near Leicester in Oadby.
