Alright let me explain. I aim to put a post together every month just to keep everyone informed and up to date, but the last 6 weeks or so have just been van, van, van and I realised that was going to be particularly boring for the majority of you so I decided not to post.

I was however pleasantly surprised to hear that a few people have been asking about recent developments and requesting I post at least a few details of what’s been happening since the beginning of the year – thanks guys and gals for your interest!

So, other than a great deal of carpentry, plumbing and electrical installation work on our host van, what has been happening the last few months? Treacle had to have another operation, this time for a growth removal, but that is both an amusing and concerning story for another time and probably not for posting here. Last time she was operated on we nearly lost her during the subsequent weeks that followed – All Hallows’ Eve. She seems fine now but at 13½ years old we worry about her all the time.

Nettie has had a big change round at work that we’re not overly pleased about, we would have preferred to just carry on as we were until November but life has a habit of throwing challenges your way and adapting and accepting these is key to moving forward. Change is “interesting”, not always good or bad but it does stop us from becoming complacent and stagnant.

I am sure that as more and more van build is done we will be able to post a few pictures, a kind of before and after sort of thing. Nettie is taking lots of bad photographs as we progress and I am sure I will be able to find the odd one or two good ones to share (love you Nettie!!!)

Thanks again to those people who asked for an update, I promise not to get too boring with van build details by explaining exactly what awg cable sizes were used where, in what cable length runs and for what current requirements, nor will I provide detailed voltage drop calculations, but those of you who really know me will expect all these details to have been considered and factored into the design – I haven’t let you down 🙂

Wouldn’t it be amazing for Netties Taxis to have an upgrade next time you call when we are out in Manchester!!

I may need driving lessons on how to drive the van first as it is a tad bigger than Smarty!! (the Smart car) 😉

Thanks for the good wishes Aunty Annie and Uncle Micky, we are excited and nervous but mainly excited 😜

We will definitely be paying you a visit, there may be a whole world to explore, but there are lots of places in this country that we’ve not been to yet too and lots of lovely people to visit 😁 – let the adventures begin (well in 139 days that is 😉).

Take care, love and hugs 😘❤️
