Many thanks for all the Christmas, New Year and Wedding Anniversary wishes we received over the last couple of weeks; we finish 2024 in a much more pleasant place than the last couple of months. This blog post is going out just before our annual holiday to the Canary Islands where we relax in some winter sunshine and recharge for what is looking like an exciting 2025.
Leaving Woodstock in early December, we travel back to Gaddesby and our good friends who now have a new arrival called Ken. We visited Ken when he was 9 weeks old but now at 11 weeks old we get to look after him for a few days. In typical puppy fashion he runs around for a short while until he runs out of steam and then puts himself to bed to recharge all while maintaining huge amounts of cuteness. We loved looking after him at this adorable age and look forward to seeing him and his tormented brother Wolfie again in a few months.
We then moved to rural Shropshire to experience the delights of miniature Schnauzer Indi and her HUGE Giant Schnauzer brother Sherlock. This was such a wonderful sit as both dogs are adorable yet completely different, they are such well behaved mutts and we certainly fell in love with their affection and humour. Equally as rewarding, we made new friends with their human parents and chatted all evening upon their return.
We finished the year, where all our dog sitting adventures started almost 2 years ago, in Derby looking after Frankie again but this time with an additional rescue dog called Jasper. This sit took us over Christmas and New Year so obviously included some drinks and naughty food which we now need to diet off again.
The week before our holiday and we find ourselves back in Somerset where we are now most definitely part of the family and community in Sparkford. We have the pleasure of gentle Bonnieβs company whilst her parents cruise around the Canary Islands and although we love looking after Bonnie we look forward to their return as this is when the parties start all over again.
We will catch up with you all again in February when absolutely nothing of note happens as we spend the entire month with Bob & Jambo in Woodstock enjoying plenty of walks and cuddles and the occasional day trip.

Wow what a year 2024 was., we crammed in so much… a month in the Canaries, three months in America, loads of dog sits, two weeks in Portugal and a weekend in Windsor with Mike. π
We’ve had some tough times, lost some very treasured lives but also made some wonderful, amazing memories.
The calendar for 2025 is looking busy but fun. I’m loving the daily Bonnie snuggles but very much looking forward to some winter sun next week π π

See you when you are next up our way.
