We can categorically confirm that there are many ways to get absolutely soaking wet at Niagara Falls. Our particular favourite is the Hurricane Deck at the Cave of the Winds as you can actually reach out and touch the Bridal Veil Falls and stand under a small part of them and feel the immense force and power here. The force of the water here is quite unbelievable when you consider that the Bridal Veil Falls is only 3% of the water that flows over all 3 falls.
Before we got to Niagara Falls we made a quick stop at the aquarium in Chicago where it was so nice to get close to the beautiful Beluga Whales, we managed to drop in at feeding time which was an added bonus.
We then headed further east to Buffalo, NY to pop to the Anchor Bar which is the birthplace of the famous Buffalo Wings, we polished off a large plate of wings between us before washing them down with a few beers. The best place to eat however was The Banshee Irish Pub Downtown, it was so surprising to find the staff and owners were all Irish and the food was absolutely delicious. We spent ages chatting to the owners and our server Darragh from Galway.
We couldn’t go to Niagara Falls, ON without a day trip to Toronto and a trip up the famous CN Tower and a wonderful boat trip around Toronto Islands. We then decided to have a quick stop over in Albany, NY before taking a well earned rest in Burlington, VT for a few days. We’ll let you know all about Burlington in the next post.

I’m definitely putting Chicago as one of the top cities we’ve visited, there was plenty to see and do plus it was easy and relatively cheap to get around on their public transport system.
I loved Niagara too, there were so many options for viewing the Falls, Skylon Tower, Rainbow Bridge, at night with the fireworks, but by far the most impressive was definitely the Hurricane Deck. Being battered by the force of the water was really cool.
We’ve been fortunate enough over the past week to have two of the best meals we’ve had since landing in Boston just over 10 weeks ago. As you mentioned the food at The Banshee Irish Pub was really good and the people we met were so friendly and fun . Then in Niagara the steak at Chuck’s Roadhouse was almost as good as yours. 😁
On to Burlington tomorrow for some relaxation by the lake.

Do they do burgers at Chucks Roadhouse?
Asking for a friend 😂😂
Annette
They do indeed do burgers Carlos and the prices are good too, tell your friend to pay a visit 😜🤣
