Mountain Air

Now in possession of a rental car we set off northbound from Los Angeles and had a quick stopover at Silicon Valley before leaving California and back into Nevada to visit Las Vegas’s little brother Reno. We then travelled east through Elko and across the Bonneville Salt Flats to Salt Lake City, finally arriving in Yellowstone.

Even I have to admit that the scenery in Yellowstone National Park is breathtakingly stunning and we have only been here one day. No amount of photos or videos can do justice to the beautiful vistas surrounding this magical place. Already we have had to stop in traffic jams because Bison decided to walk down the middle of the road and we have been lucky enough to see a huge bear walking down the side of the riverbank.

We have another couple of days to explore the park before heading south through Rawlins and Moab en-route to Flagstaff and our chance to see the wonders of The Grand Canyon.

I will keep this a short post because next week we also find ourselves horse riding in Santa Fe (New Mexico) which deserves its own post I feel. Cowboy hat on, saddle ‘em up and ride on out…

Oh wow how amazing is Yellowstone, I thought the Bonneville Salt Flats were pretty but Yellowstone is definitely something else. Seeing the baby Bison and bear we’re the icing on the cake. Thank you also for doing all the driving and avoiding the Bison 🙂

Ah but at least you’re getting to see different parts of the country even if it is from behind a steering wheel 😄 plus you get to travel to Europe with your job, which is definitely a bonus 👍

It’s funny when you tell the locals where your next stop is (usually 300 miles away) and they say “Oh yes, just up the road”.

I’m not one for lots of pictures but Nettie has a few.
