Lively Lisbon

We do not wish our blog posts to become sombre, we cannot change the past or the upsetting events of November, we can only look back with fond memories and bravely move forward.

We have actually been very busy during the remainder of November as we had already booked a holiday to Lisbon, Portugal and were booked to dog sit on our return until early December. Our holiday accommodation was just outside the centre of Lisbon but with a reliable transport network it was so easy to get to see all the city and beyond.

We did the usual Lisbon holiday visits including Sintra and Cascais and took in a private sailboat sightseeing trip down the Tagus river. Highlights for us were the tour of Quinta da Regaleira, walking around The National Palace of Pena and the Lisbon Traditional Boats trip. Wrap all this up with some local pastries and lovely food and we managed to have a busy but relaxing holiday.

Arriving back in the UK and straight up to Gaddesby, Leicestershire to see a new arrival, Ken the 9 week old Jack Russell puppy who we will be caring for early on in December, then over to Wootton to care for Bob & Jambo the two long-haired Jack Russell brothers. This is a regular sit so we know the boys quite well and being located in rural Oxfordshire it is a quiet and relaxing time catching up on TV series, reading and lots of country walks.

I am also using some of my downtime to chat with a software development team to enhance and update the map drawing facilities on our Travel Map, it is still a ‘work in progress’ at the moment so please excuse any abnormalities with pins and information windows but hopefully when completed I can insert some small images along with the pins so at the very least you can see all the lovely dogs we have cared for.

  1. Lisbon was great for some much needed rest and recuperation giving us time to come to terms with recent events.

Lisbon is a lovely city to explore and the Lisboa Card is definitely worth purchasing giving us free travel around the city and entry to some of the museums, monuments and other interesting places. Topping off Lisbon with the very memorable sightseeing sailboat trip was a lovely end to the holiday.

Now here we are in December with stormy wet weather, good job we have our wellies and waterproofs for dog walking 😄

Hi Abdus, we’re well thanks. Busy with a 11 week old puppy at the moment which is always a handful but sweet at the same time. Hope all is well with you and your family.
