As we start March we are still dog sitting in Wootton, Woodstock but we have had an unexpectedly busy time over the last 4 weeks. We took a few trips out to Woodstock town and a walk to “Old Woodstock”, we walked around the grounds of Blenheim Palace and had a lunchtime snack at The Farmer’s Dog which is Jeremy Clarkson’s pub. We had a lovely meal on a trip to Burford and we went back to Chipping Norton for a haircut.
We met a lovely couple and their two Labradors Beethoven and Bernard who live a few doors down, they coincidentally run a dog walking business and were looking for dog sitters. We were also invited to pop in to see the elderly couple who own the main Hordley House, they are a lovely couple with a young dog and they were also looking for dog sitters – word certainly gets around.
RAF Brize Norton is literally just up the road from us here in Wootton so we had to take Bob & Jambo for a day trip to look around and grab a bite to eat. To be honest, Oxford airport is also just around the corner as are plenty of small aerodromes, and RAF Fairford is only 30 miles away so we are constantly seeing plenty of aircraft from small single props and helicopters to large military transporters.
We have done a little online shopping ready for our holidays later this year, including a new passport which should now have a slightly more recognisable picture in it after my USA haircut last year. June 2026 is now booked in sunny Wales for my birthday, right on the flight path of the Mach Loop so we are expecting to see some nice low flying jets that week.
All in all, February has turned out to be a busy little month. Stay tuned for next month’s post as we resit in Littlebury, Saffron Walden and travel way down south to Lewes, East Sussex for a completely new sit.

February has definitely been much busier than we were expecting with us galavanting all over the Cotswolds with the boys – Bob & Jambo are such good travellers and very well behaved in cafes and pubs which has made it easy and fun visiting some new places

If only I was on our Soho Farmhouse run, I may have bumped into you around Chipping Norton!
Looking forward to catching up with you guys next month
